Steve Crowe
Steve has been on and around the water since the day his family first arrived in Canada from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England over 40 years ago. Starting as a junior sailor on dinghies, he crossed over to keel boat racing in his teens and has not looked back. As a boat builder, sail maker and rigger, as well as owning his own repair shop for over 20 years, Steve have had the opportunity to sail the seas across the globe. Most recently, he managed and captained the Mayhem Racing program which started with a Farr 40 and graduated to TP52s. Aboard these Grand Prix boats, renowned in sailing circles as fun, safe and reliable, Steve has had some outstanding results on the course. When not on the water, Steve splits his time between hanging with his wife and daughter in Vancouver and working at North Sails.
In addition, Steve also coaches and teaches with Cooper boating and has run seminars at West Van Yacht Club, Kelowna Yacht Club and Blast Performance Sailing. He also ran the 2011 Van Isle 360 Yacht race as the PRO.
Steve is currently coaching the Northwest Youth Racing Team in their quest for match racing podium finishes.
